Pharmacy Student Visits Turkey

Tinashe Chinyepe, a Pharmacy student recently visited Turkey, to participate in the Winter Student Exchange Programme held in Izmir, organised by the International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) from 18 January to 18 February 2019.

Tinashe joined other students from across the world at the Students Exchange Programme, which helps students from member organisations to improve their personal and professional profiles and also to improve education and public health in their local communities by following examples from other countries.

Speaking on his arrival from Turkey, Tinashe said the visit was a life changing opportunity, which brought some professionalism and improvements on his competency in the pharmaceutical career. “I learnt new initiative being undertaking by other international universities and also got an appreciation of different approaches on how lectures are conducted,” he said.

Participation in the Student Exchange Programme also allows students to learn from their counterparts in other countries, empowering them to contribute towards the development of the own countries. The International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF) was founded in 1949 with the statutory of studying and promoting the interests of pharmaceutical students and to encourage international cooperation among them. IPSF has a solid membership of more than 70 organisations representing more than three hundred thousand pharmacy students and recent graduates in over 80 countries worldwide. There are a lot of campaigns and projects implemented into IPSF and the Student Exchange Programme is one of them.
