Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Dosimetry

Applications for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Dosimetry are invited from candidates who meet the specified entry requirements. This is a 2 years part-time programme commencing in March 2018. 

The programme gives broad knowledge of radiotherapy planning physics and radiobiology, advanced imaging in radiotherapy, clinical anatomy for radiotherapy planning, dose calculation algorithms, advanced radiotherapy equipment and clinical techniques including Intensity modulated Radiotherapy, Volumetric arc therapy, Image guided radiotherapy, Stereotactic radiotherapy, Tomotherapy, 4D treatment, Particle therapy and quality assurance in radiotherapy.

Graduates of the programme will have career paths as medical Dosimetrists, Quality Assurance radiographers, Research Scientists in radiotherapy planning.

 

Entry Requirements

Diploma in Radiography or equivalent plus two years relevant post qualification experience. 

OR

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Therapeutic Radiography

For all programmes, candidates must have 5 'O' Level passes at Grade 'C' or better with passes in English Language and Mathematics.

 

Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound

Applications for admission into the Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound are invited from candidates who meet the specified entry requirements. This is an 18 month full-time programme commencing in March 2018. 

The programme  gives broad knowledge of medical imaging in the following areas: Obstetrics and Gynecology, Abdominal Ultrasound, Musculoskeletal, Vascular studies, Small parts, Pediatric ultrasound, F.A.S.T (Focused Assessment Sonography in Trauma)  ultrasound techniques and an introduction to Echocardiography.
There will be an emphasis on equipping all students with research competencies in the field of medical ultrasound.

Graduates of the programme will have career paths as Ultra-sonographers and or Specialise in different specialist areas of medicine, e.g. Urology ultrasound and Applications specialist.

Diploma in Radiography or equivalent plus two years relevant post qualification experience. 

OR

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Radiography or equivalent

OR

Bachelor of Technology Honours Degree in Radiography or equivalent

 

For all programmes, candidates must have 5 'O' Level passes at Grade 'C' or better with passes in English Language and Mathematics.

HOW TO APPLY

The completed form should be accompanied with certified copies of the following:

(a) Relevant academic and or professional certificates, results slips or transcript.
(b) National Identity Card or first three pages of a candidate's passport
(c) Birth Certificate
(d) Bank Deposit Slip

The closing date for receipt of completed application forms is Friday, 16 February 2018 at 1600hrs.  Late applications will be considered up to Friday, 23 February 2018 upon payment of a late application fee of $50.00.
