Entry requirements for acceptance to this programme are:

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes including Mathematics and Physics or Mathematics and Computer Science or Mathematics and any other relevant science subject


NC, ND or HND in Information Technology (HEXCO) or equivalent


  • Programme Structure

Bachelor of Technology in Information Security & Assurance is a 4-year full-time study programme.

Each academic year, with the exception of Part 3, is divided into two semesters, with each semester being fifteen weeks in duration, including examination time.  Part 3 consists of an internship of thirty weeks duration (1 academic year) OR alternatively an in-house project at HIT lasting thirty weeks (1 academic year).

For Parts 1, 2 and 4 the academic year (part) normally commences in August and concludes in May. A semester will normally comprise of 15 weeks, 12 weeks of which are assigned to teaching, 1 week to revision and 2 weeks to examination.
