The Harare Institute of Technology has entered into a partnership agreement with Dandemutande Investments (Pvt.) Ltd concerning cooperation in research and development.
HIT Vice chancellor Eng. Q.C Kanhukamwe and Dandemutande Investments (Pvt.) Ltd Chief Executive Officer Mr Never Ncube signed the Memorandum of Understanding aimed at establishing and enhancing collaboration in research and development of technologies.
The agreement seeks to identify and carry out joint research projects for the benefit of both parties as well as expanding and introducing other technologies in other sectors, especially in areas such as the Internet of Things (IOT), Big Data Analysis, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. The two parties may however mutually agree to expand and diversify into other related areas.
Under the agreement, Dandemutande will provide funding for the development and implementation of the project, avail positions for internship and graduate traineeship for HIT students as well as providing the necessary trainings and workshops for students using their state of the art infrastructure and technologies.
HIT agreed to develop Dandemutande staff in technologies through knowledge transfer and training. It will also conduct research and development for areas of interest by Dandemutande. the University shall also avail necessary personnel that Dandemutande developers will work with and ensure their availability whenever necessary.
The MoU shall be valid for a period of five years and shall be extended for any successive periods.
