HIT Presents LADS at Local Authorities Workshop in Gweru

Eng. T. Maphosa attended the Local Authorities Chartered Accountants Workshop in Gweru, where he presented and got feedback about the Local Authorities Database System (LADS), a business solutions' softwares developed by HIT for local authorities.

The workshop's agenda was to standardize the chartered accounts of all local authorities for easy reporting and to encourage all local authorities to comply with the International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) and Government finance statistics.

The forum challenged HIT to continue working on developing LADS to be an integrated and comprehensive system tailor-made for Zimbabwean local authorities. The system should cover all aspects found in a local authority. The forum's chairpersons also made a formal request to HIT for the production of a prototype by May 2019 which we will be presented to a another forum of all local authorities. The Accountant General and Chief Accountant of the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing also invited the HIT LADS Team to visit   their offices for further discussions on the database system.

"We had a wonderful workshop in Gweru. It was a resounding success and we got invaluable exposure and networking," said Eng. T. Maphosa.
