Mr Tambaoga Kachambwa Joins HIT as the New Finance Director

Mr Tambaoga Kachambwa has joined the Harare Institute of Technology as the new Finance Director with effect from 01 June 2021.

Mr Tambaoga KachambwaMr Kachambwa is an Associate Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA) with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and he also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting from the Zimbabwe Open University and a Certificate in Retirement Funds Trusteeship from the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe.

He has vast experience in Finance and Administration, Projects and Commercialization as well as Budgetary Control after serving the Zimbabwe Open University in various capacities since 2008 until he joined HIT.

Mr Kachambwa is also credited for driving the Zimbabwe Open University’s profit-making ventures, and utilization of University’s farms on a commercial basis where he developed a strategic business plan, and budget for commencing commercial activities at two farms of the university.  He also oversaw the staffing, and acquisition of capital and biological assets for the farm operations, evaluated requirements for the farming projects; developed the annual cropping and live-stocking budget for the farm and successfully commenced commercial farming activities at the two farms that have enhanced the resource mobilization and research capabilities of the university.

During his tenure as the Zimbabwe Open University’ Acting Finance Manager from 2013 to August 2018, Mr Kachambwa helped the University to get three awards at the “2017 Public Sector Finance Management Award of Excellence, Overall Best Financial Management,  Excellence in Accounting, Auditing & Financial Reporting, and 1st Runner Up in Debt Administration and Management.

Mr Kachambwa is a professional member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).
