Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Radiography

Applications for admission into Part One of the following undergraduate Bachelor of Science Honours Degree Programme are invited from candidates who meet the specified entry requirements. This is a four-year full-time programme commencing in August 2018.

The programme is designed to give broad knowledge of Therapeutic and Imaging Sciences in Radiography.  It emphasizes on equipping students with advanced knowledge in the different fields of Diagnostic Radiography which include the following; Computed Tomography, Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound scanning, General X-rays and Special procedures. In therapeutic radiography students will be equipped with advanced knowledge in computerized planning, mould room techniques, radio-isotope imaging and treatment (nuclear medicine), general radiotherapy treatment as well as current advanced treatment modalities in Radiotherapy. There will be an emphasis on equipping all students with research competencies in the field of radiography.

Graduates of the programme will have career paths as Diagnostic Radiographer, Therapeutic Radiographer, Industrial Radiographer, Medical Dosimetrist, Radiation Protection Officer, Ultra Sonographer and Research Scientist.

 

Entry Requirements

Two 'A' Level passes in Biology, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry.

OR

Diploma in Radiography or equivalent plus a minimum of two years relevant post qualification experience.

For all degree programmes, candidates must have 5 'O' Level passes at Grade 'C' or better with passes in English Language and Mathematics.

 

HOW TO APPLY

 

The completed form should be accompanied with certified copies of the following:

(a)  Relevant academic and or professional certificates, results slips or transcript.
(b)  National Identity Card or first three pages of a candidate's passport
(c)  Birth Certificate
(d) Bank Deposit Slip

The closing date for receipt of completed application forms is Friday, 2 March 2018 at 1600hrs.  Late applications will be considered up to Friday, 16 March 2018 upon payment of a late application fee of $50.00.
