The Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) has once again demonstrated its growing stature on the global research stage, with a senior academic playing a pivotal role at a prestigious international conference in China. Chairperson of the Materials Engineering and Technology Department, Engineer Aaron Mukuya’s recent participation in the International Conference on Advanced Materials 2025 in Ningbo and Shaoxing has not only showcased HIT’s expertise but has also solidified a promising new international partnership.
The conference, a significant gathering for the global advanced materials community, saw Engr. Mukuya is providing valuable guidance and insights, representing HIT’s commitment to innovation and international collaboration.
In a heartfelt letter of appreciation from the conference organisers, Terentia Jia, General Manager of International Affairs for Flink Industrial Chain Ltd., highlighted Engr. Mukuya’s instrumental role. She extended special thanks for his dedication to managing complex processes and his unwavering support throughout the conference preparations.
The event marked a significant milestone for both parties. For the organising team, it was their inaugural conference, while for HIT, it represented a strategic step into a key international forum. The collaboration was described as a “beautiful continuation” of a friendship built with Zimbabwe since 2023.
