Mr. Koichiro Hara a Japanese Computing Engineer is currently attached at the Harare Institute of Technology’s Information Communications Technology Services under the Japan International Cooperation Agency Zimbabwe (JICA).

Mr. Hara is currently attached at the Morgan Zintec College as a Computer Management, Systems, architecting, and instruction Officer. His role at HIT includes sharing knowledge on cybersecurity, systems management, monitoring, and backups.

According to Mr. Hara it is a pleasure to be deployed by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) for different objectives and capacity building in Zimbabwe not limited to skills development for information technology but also games and physical education.

His deployment follows the JICA Zimbabwe-HIT cooperation workshop that was attended by the JICA Zimbabwe Deputy Resident Representative Mr. Ryo Shiga, JICA Programme Officer Mr. Charlotte Ndlovu, and members of the HIT Senior Management Staff and some members of the academic and non-academic staff on the 20th of September 2022, to discuss possible areas of technical cooperation and deployment of the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers Programme (JOCV).
