LADWORX SCOOPS BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION FIRST PRIZE

Ladworx Business Solutions Private Limited, a digital-first software solutions and marketing company scooped the first prize award at 2020 HIT Business Plan Competition was held at the Innovation Hub on Wednesday 13 September 2023.
Ladworx directors Ruzvidzo Just and Clint Muvirimi were presented with a USD 5 000 equivalent from SMEDCO grant, water bottle from, goodie bag from Varichem Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd and were also offered Stanbic Bank pre-coaching and mentoring services.
The digital-first software solutions and digital marketing firm that integrates bespoke software solutions with aggressive marketing practices to ensure business success, also offer Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software reselling and training, secretarial and company registry services.
On the second position was Rhemsplast, a company that has developed a new, environmentally friendly and cost-effective process for extracting gold with a focus on markets where the existing process of sodium cyanide and mercury either does not work or banned for environmental reasons.
Rhemsplast director, Malvin Ngonidzashe developed a bio-absorbents (immobilized acacia tannin) for gold extraction, substituting mercury in small scale mines. By cross-linking the tannin, the adsorbent exhibits high selectivity and high adsorption capacity of gold of about 95% recovery almost close to cyanidation process. Furthermore the adsorption is not affected by the presence of other metal ions such as Cu(II), Zn(II), Ni(II).
The company was presented with USD 3000 equivalent grant from SMEDCO, a water bottle from SMEDCO, a goodie bag from Varichem Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd as well as Stanbic Bank pre-coaching and mentoring services.
Zambezi Ark Technologies (Zartech) came third. According to its director, Mr Mafuta Lesley, Zartech is a social enterprise that provides sustainable and reliable lighting solutions to improve education, health, and productivity in underserved areas. It offers an off-grid solar-powered DC LED lighting system and the Chigubhu Lantern made from electronic and plastic waste, providing high-quality, climate-friendly, and affordable lighting options.
The company won a USD 2000 equivalent grant from SMEDCO.
All the winners were presented with a water bottle from SMEDCO, a goodie bag from Varichem Pharmaceuticals Pvt Ltd and pre-coaching and mentoring services by Stanbic Bank.
All the applicants for the 2023 BPC were also trained by the Stanbic Bank.
The HIT Business Plan Competitions were organised by the Technopreneurship Development Centre (TDC) and sponsored by the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation (SMEDCO) together with Varichem.
